2016 Annual Meeting and General Assembly of the International Association of Professional Congress Organisers

This is to say an enormous thank you for everything you did to make this such an exceptional meeting. Without exception, everyone said it was an amazing experience and it has certainly put South Africa on the map as far as IAPCO is concerned. Everything was so good, from the awesome Table Mountain reception, to the brilliant programme and arrangements. Far too much to eat but so delicious, definitely back to the diet when we get home. I hope you are not too tired, just trust me this was one of the best meetings we have ever had; in fact it was the best, with your achieving an 89% score, the highest since records began 13 years ago!

2nd World Seabird Conference

Thank you for your tremendous support and assistance with the 2nd World Seabird Conference in Cape Town, South Africa, in October 2015. Planning an international conference in South Africa from Canada required us to trust your suggestions and ask your advice on things local and unique. The African Agenda team not only provided us support onsite and in the preparation, you became part of our team in delivering a seamless conference.”

“We thank you for your open lines of communication, especially with time zone differences, with regards to all manners of the conference, including accommodations, exhibitor services, and off site locations. We can’t thank you enough for the entertainment suggestions, supplier recommendations and advice on unique South African customs to aid in the delivery of the conference.”

“The collaboration in the lead up to the conference was extremely useful and thorough and your onsite team were a seamless link between our team and yours during the five day event. Their kindness, helpfulness and general service attitude was appreciated and noticed by our delegates, the Board and our team.”

“The 2nd World Seabird Conference was a success on many levels, including delegate and exhibitor satisfaction, media coverage and conservation outcomes for the future. These successes are due in part to the contribution and support of the African Agenda team.”

“We look forward to working with you in the future.

Marischal DeArmond – President, De Armond Conference Management

19th World Congress of the International Federation of Automatic Control

We have just completed the 19th World Congress of the International Federation of Automatic Control (IFAC) that was held in August 2014 in Cape Town at the CTICC. Over 2000 delegates attended and about 2000 papers presented. An IFAC World Congress differs somewhat from other similar events in that the IFAC Council and related meetings, totalling about 60 separate meetings, are held in conjunction with the Congress together with many social IFAC events that are not directly related to the Congress.”

“Keith Burton, Kristen Tremeer and the rest of the African Agenda team did an excellent job of organising this very complex event.”

“They are very knowledgeable about their field and you can trust them to do what they have committed to do in an amicable, friendly and professional way.”

“I have no hesitation at all in recommending African Agenda
to anyone interested in hosting an event, big or small.

Ian Craig, President, IFAC

17th Reach to Recovery International Breast Cancer Support Conference

Reach to Recovery International awarded their 17th International Breast Cancer Support Conference to their South African division Reach for Recovery. The conference was held in Cape Town in March 2013 and delegates from 46 countries attended.”

“The management of this conference was awarded to African Agenda, Conference Design and Management.”

“Their capable team took control of all aspects of the conference in a quiet and efficient manner Delegates remarked on the smooth running of the conference and the pleasant nature of the staff. Where required they dealt with travel arrangements, flights and hotel accommodation. Nothing was too much for them and there was attention to detail which was greatly appreciated. Their co-ordination of the Welcome Reception and Gala Dinner resulted in excellent evenings.”

“They were good listeners and worked hard to ensure that what we wanted was achieved. We were able to rest assured that the financial aspects were professionally handled.”

“I have no hesitation in recommending them. Our choice of African Agenda, Conference Design and Management was an inspired one!”

Ann Steyn – President, Reach to Recovery South Africa

Actuarial Society of South Africa Annual Convention

The Actuarial Society of South Africa has utilised the conference organising skills of African Agenda in several of our recent annual conventions. Our conventions are large and complex affairs, with over 1000 delegates, plenary sessions, the delivery of published professional papers, discussion forums, presentations, parallel sessions, dinners and other social events. We also have interaction with the media and other invited guests. The quality of our convention has undoubtedly been enhanced significantly since African Agenda has become part of our team. Their logistical skills, enthusiasm and sheer hard work have allowed our leadership and the organising committee to focus more on the content of the convention, leading to much better events. I recommend them unreservedly.

Peter Doyle – President, Actuarial Society of South Africa (2010-2011)

International Congress of Actuaries 2010

As Chairman of the International Congress of Actuaries (ICA) 2010 Organising Committee, I have worked closely with African Agenda for the last 4 years in the planning and production of the 2010 International Congress of Actuaries. The congress, produced by African Agenda, attracted approximately 2000 delegates from over 100 countries. It has been widely acclaimed by all as the best-organised conference they had ever attended. I only have high praise for their conference management skills, from planning through execution.”

“Throughout the planning stages, Keith Burton and Kristen Tremeer displayed the ability to interact at the highest level with members of the organising committee. They have the humility required to listen and take suggestions, and the strength to make recommendations and take decisions.”

“During the congress, African Agenda had a full strength management presence on the ground, and were at all times professional and in control despite complexity of the event. Their attention to detail across all aspects of the event was excellent.”

“The range of African Agenda’s skills was displayed especially well in two areas: in the tight management and control of the financial aspects of the event (they were responsible for developing and managing the budget of a R30,000,000 event); and in the careful, warm and considerate management of VIPs – from our papers authors to our keynote speakers.”

“I have no hesitation in highly recommending African Agenda’s services to an organising committee tasked with the delivery of a stand-out, world class event.

Desmond Smith – Chairman, ICA 2010 Organising Committee
