about African Agenda

The Company

African Agenda (formerly known as the Conference Consortium) is one of only a handful of Professional Conference Organisers in South Africa that has obtained the status of SAACI Accredited International Conference Organiser. This accreditation acknowledges our experience and ability while reflecting the skills, knowledge and resources available within the company.

We provide the full range of conferencing services and are capable of assisting our clients from the inception of a conference through execution. For a detailed description of our services, please see Services Offered.

African Agenda has organised many successful conferences for the private sector, government, business associations, and academia. A selection of some of our recent events can be found in Past Conferences Organised.

Our Philosophy

During the organisation and management of a conference, the client and the Conference Organiser share common goals which we view as the foundation of a partnership . African Agenda feels as strongly about your event as you do, and this ownership philosophy is reflected in our commitment and energy.

We also believe in using the destination to enhance the event. The increase in conferences globally has resulted in increased competition for African and international delegates’ attention. It is vital to use this extraordinary destination as a draw card and to enhance the conference experience.

The overriding goal is to ensure that each delegate has a superlative conference experience. This will ensure their attendance at the client’s next conference, and will encourage delegates to promote Southern Africa at home, returning soon, with their family and friends!

Accredited International Conference Organiser

African Agenda is accredited by the South African Association of the Conference Industry (SAACI) as an International Conference Organiser, the highest level attainable. SAACI instituted this accreditation system to regulate the capabilities of Conference Organisers and it is divided into 3 tiers:

· Conference Organiser
· Professional Conference Organiser
· International Conference Organiser

To receive accreditation as an International Conference Organiser, a company must be audited in terms of previous international experience, office infrastructure and the level of service provided. There are fewer than 10 Conference Organisers in South Africa that qualify for this top level of accreditation and African Agenda is one of these.

Staffing

In addition to the members of the company, African Agenda has 6 full-time employees involved in day-to-day operations. When necessary, African Agenda calls on part-time staff that are trained and experienced in providing specific backup support to the conference organisers.

Conference Management Software

Appropriate Conference Management Software is critical for the smooth planning and execution of large conferences. African Agenda uses Summit Pro, which is one of the most comprehensive conference management programs available. This system contributes to the extremely efficient and organised management of the conference from start to finish.

About the MANAGEMENT

African Agenda offers a dynamic mixture of youth and experience. The management team draws from experience in different sectors providing African Agenda with a wide range of skills and approaches to tasks that are presented. For any given project a senior manager will be designated to manage the conference (depending on the type of conference and the skills required) and will be responsible for the management with the other members available to supply advice and support.

The African Agenda management team are ambitious and are working to ensure that the company becomes the foremost conferencing company in Southern Africa. To achieve this, we guarantee excellence in each and every event that we organise.
