Keith Burton
Keith graduated from the University of Cape Town with a business degree and spent
time working in corporate finance and project management before embarking on a
career in the conference industry. Keith manages the African Agenda team dedicated
to each project and is the primary Organising Committee contact. Keith recently chaired
the SAACI Western Cape committee and has been a member of the committee for over
three years. He was also responsible for the management of the SAACI National
Conference 2007 and is a member of Meeting Professionals Internationa (MPI). He is exceedingly thorough, has excellent management skills, and is a leader that brings out
the best in the people working around him.
Kristen Tremeer
Kristen received a Master´s degree in International Studies from the University of
Stellenbosch. After having worked as a research assistant for the Head of the Political
Science department, Kristen joined Omega Investment Research as an organiser of
international trade and investment promotion events and as the editor of a monthly
electronic journal of political and economic analysis. Kristen is responsible for speaker
and programme management; the development of communications materials and
conference publications; and works with Organising Committees on all aspects of
their Scientific Programmes including conference analysis and comprehensive report
writing.
Nthobatse More
Nthobatse is an entrepreneur and marketing enthusiast. He brings more than 10 years experience of sales and marketing management experience to African Agenda. He has extensive business development experience, having held various marketing and account management positions in leading financial services companies including Standard Bank, Old Mutual and Sanlam. Before joining African Agenda, his passion for marketing led to the formation of Sonata Marketing Communications, a marketing and events consultancy business. Nthobatse provides strategic direction to African Agenda and his core focus area is business development. Nthobatse holds a BCom degree in Financial Management from the University of Pretoria.
Paul de Waal
After graduating with a civil engineering degree from the University of Cape Town,
Paul worked as a property developer for five years. Eight years ago a career change
beckoned and he has been involved in conferencing ever since. Paul brings the
traditional engineering skills of planning, project management and problem solving
to the company. Paul is also on the Board of the Table Mountain Aerial Cableway
Company, one of Cape Town´s premier tourist attractions.
Davinia Lamb
Davinia is an integral part of African Agenda in her capacity as Registration
Manager and bookkeeper. Davinia effortlessly manages the delegate registration
and administrative process, including invoicing, payment reconciliation and
accommodation arrangements. In her three years at African Agenda she has been
responsible for the registration of more than 4,000 delegates. With her studies
in Accounting, she administers all the company´s bookkeeping and accounting
procedures, including financial audit preparation.
Karen Hilliard
Karen received an introduction to the industry of conferencing and events when first working with African Agenda in November 2009 in Dar es Salaam. Karen comes from an academic background of research into the social reactions to HIV/AIDS, but while completing her Honours degree in Justice and Transformation (University of Cape Town) was inducted into the corporate world as a personal assistant in Broll's International Commercial Property Investment Division. She joined African Agenda at the beginning of 2010, bringing to the team exceptional organisational abilities, strong analytical and conceptual skills, and experience dealing with a variety of people on different levels of professionalism.
Sedicka Allies
Sedicka has more than 10 years experience in public administration having worked at the Western Cape College of Nursing, administering final year students records as well as examination records for all students. Having joined the company in 2011, her extensive office experience ensured a seamless transition into the African Agenda team, playing a significant role across all areas.
Lisa Vickers
After a number of years in the United Kingdom and with diplomas in Public Relations and Hospitality Management, Lisa joined the conferencing and events industry upon her return to South Africa in 2006. Lisa has been a member of SAACI for a number of years and has built vital relationships within the industry. She joined the African Agenda team at the beginning of 2012 and is responsible for the preparation and execution of conferences in their entirety, including social events, programme and speaker management and exhibitions
